Just thought I'd pop it up here as not everyone likes to put their location! I'm living in killarney, yes I go to cork often enough at times but it's to visit family as it's my hometown!! Interested in getting to know other owners nearby in the event I can't get to meets (walks) which I hopefully will be able to! I drive so if someone else near me doesn't could come in handy for getting to Eirepitbull walks :-)

Are you serious?? B*lls!! Just have to keep to the forum so and try to get to one of the walks. I seen a few posts mentioning Kerry, limeric n cork but also noticed that they're not exactly regular members. I feel "special" then lol!

There used to be a kid my age on the forum from Cork, but he got sense and stopped posting like I try and do...

Mark from Limerick used to go on this a bit too, but he doesn't bother with the site anymore either.

Can't think of too many other people outside the Dublin/Kildare area who post regularly.

Bull-breeds seem to be concentrated in urban areas.

Eh hem!! Concentrated in urban areas! And you're saying there was only 1 lad from cork?!! You saying i'm not urban?!! Ireland

Well to be fair to that, bull breeds are more common in areas like where I grew up where coincidentally....being able to afford the internet is not so common!! LOL

We're sort of know it alls at times, too stubborn usually to heed advice so maybe that's why my lot are lacking! I'd definitely recommend this site though, I'd just never heard of it before?

Oh right, only one then! Thought there was two as I think one of the mods is listed as being there. My mothers from there,I've never seen a bull breed down there! Lovely big long beach near there for the dogs but surfers all over it Sad

Can't wait til the time is right to leave Rooney off, will see just how obedient he is then! Lol!

dont let him off the lead.you have a bull breed no a labrador and it it should be treated as such be ready for dog aggression and bringing your dog to the beach is asking for trouble

But I have said already that I wouldn't leave him off around anybody or anything. He's not my slave,he's supposed to be my companion. He should have a little bit of freedom once in a blue moon,I meant the surfers. On there would mean I can't walk him there. Jumping the gun a bit there.

I know my dog would crack up if he never got a bit of freedom off the lead and if you're lucky enough to have somewhere to take him where there's no one around and he can have a good run/swim you should let him. Obviously not somewhere he can run into trouble ie other dogs and as long as you can control him etc. I'm lucky I can bring mine out to the farm with a big wood and a river and a load of fields they love the freedom, so much more fun than walking around on a lead getting frustrated.

I know what you mean, in fairness I have mentioned i'm from cork so I didn't make it clear above that i'm out in the sticks now, sorry Egan??!! Wouldn't risk it as it wouldn't be worth losing the dog over? 4 mile walk this evening, Rooney is wrecked! Lol! He didn't even want to get out of the car! Had a bad day Egan, sorry again, bit of pit in me at times! Raaar?!!

You got a young dog, and like Egan says he's not Labrador. You have to be prepared that when he matures he'll want to destroy everything in site and it wouldn't be safe to let him off no matter how remote.

What if someone else has the same idea as you and you've two dogs off lead, Rooney ain't going to come back no matter how much you shout lol. Then you have a problem on your hands.

You do have a point lads, I'm just saying if you have somewhere to go where you know for certain no one else is, then it's not a problem, like an empty field and you have the landowners permission for example..
I am in no way condoning bulldogs running riot on a beach full of people or in a park!
